A “Fifth Track” History
While Trac5 is a new organization, the founders of this organization have lived out the vision and implementation of the Trac5 model for many years. This history demonstrates the effect that a Trac5-style approach can and has had. Trac5 is not about one person or institution but is combining the gathered experiences, knowledge and successes of our team members into a replicable model of practical application. Below is a list throughout the last two decades where a Trac5 style model of engagement was included as part of a larger process (with the other four tracks); contributing to these positive outcomes:
Western Sahara: 1994 Ceasefire
Liberia: 1995 Abuja Peace Accords signed
Benin: 1997 Youth peace movement & resolution of tribal conflicts
Libya: 1999 Rapprochement with Qaddafi opened lines of communication with West
Pakistan: 2000 Release imprisoned Christians
Ghana: 2000 Successful presidential candidate
Iraq: 2001-02 Return of UN WMD inspectors, however, unsuccessful effort to stop the war
Congo Kinshasa (DRC) 2002: Cease fire leading to national reconciliation
Congo, Brazzaville: 2003 End civil war
Sudan, North/South War: 1997/2005 Prayed for peace
Sudan, Darfur: 2006 Deployment UN Peacekeeping Forces
Afghanistan/Taliban: 2007 Release of Korean Christian missionaries
Sudan & U.N.: 2009 Avoided flogging of UN woman for dressing in pants
Iran: 2010: Offered alternative solutions for release of two Iranian women "converts to Christianity"
USA: 2010 Offered alternative solution which was a catalyst in Christian pastor's decision to cancel Qur'an burning on 9/11/10
