A Common Word – This is the main website for the Common Word document originating in Jordan that opened the door for dialogue between Muslims and Christians in 2007.  Everyone interested in dialogue should be familiar with this historic document.


 
Jesus in the Qur’an - This is the website from a church in Georgia that is making impressive strides to educate Christians & Muslims on the truth shared between them.  Notice their “Generation Salaam” groups.  They are groups that “gather to read Scripture, serve humanity in the name of God, and seek the true straight path to Him.”  Check it out!

20,000 Dialogues – Is an organization that seeks to build understanding and familiarity of who Muslims are and what they really represent.  They accomplish their purpose by people going to their website to watch a movie and then starting a dialogue locally.  What are you waiting for, go watch a movie.
 



Change the Story – What a great website of Muslims speaking out against un-Qur’anic practices that are typically associated with Islam.  The opening video is great and the “Land Called Paradise” music video that follows is a candid side of Muslims that most Americans do not know.


 
 
U.S. Institute of Peace – This is a government run Peace initiative that seems to have some great goals for achieving world peace.  Check out their building that is going up in D.C.—pretty impressive.

 



Interfaith Youth Core
–Eboo Patel started this multi-faith movement in Chicago and it has expanded out to many universities and cities. What a wonderful effort among the young leaders!

– The mission of UPF “is to build a respected media foundation, creating high-quality films for worldwide broadcast and long-term educational campaigns that increase understanding and dialogue among the world’s spiritual and cultural traditions.



Islam for Peace

This website is amazing!


 
One Nation For All –This is a great resource website to find out what Muslims are doing in America to make a difference.  Their page titled, “American Muslims Condemn Terrorism” is a much-needed outcry that we applaud.
 

Preemptive Love Coalition – Is a group that is taking shoes made by Kurds and selling them to a US audience with the intent of raising money for Kurdish kids who will die without critical heart surgeries.  We need more organizations like this!



 

Abrahamic Alliance International
– Is a “faith-based non-profit organization uniting Jews, Christians, and Muslims for active peacebuilding and relief of extreme poverty.”  This group provides opportunities for peacebuilding through Loving Neighbors Seminars and Local Community Projects.

 
 
Kalimatullah – Kalimatullah is a diverse Muslim/Christian website that goes into great depth dealing with the Holy Books. I particularly like the section of halal recipies! Hummus anyone?

– The Kroc Institute offers degree programs in strategic peacebuilding which “integrates local actors in a conflict with regional and global institutions. The Kroc Institute is pioneering this concept as a means of diagnosing conflict and building lasting and just peace.”

Reconciliation Program
– Yale offers a degree study program that states: “The goal of the Reconciliation Program is to promote reconciliation between Muslims and Christians, and between Muslim nations and the West.




 
Halalfire – Don't let the name confuse you. This is an extremely helpful Muslim website that allows you to do a search in your area for halal restaurants, markets and mosques.

 
Common Ground News Service – This is a News source that focuses on articles and topics related to finding common ground between otherwise opposing groups such as Christians and Muslims or Arabs and Israelis. We are glad to see that there are others out there writing about this critical issues.

 

The Buxton Initiative – The Buxton Initiative is a D.C. based organization that “equips emerging and high-level leaders to build bridges in an increasingly divided world. We promote inter-religious engagement among a variety of different groups, including: High-level Leaders, Young Leaders & Faith Communities.”

The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East
- Without genuine Reconciliation there can never be lasting peace. Religion and politics are intimately linked in the Middle East. This makes having a religious track essential to a balanced peace process. A wholly secular approach will not be sufficient.
